After the concert in St John's Church, Princes Street, which marked the official launch of Cadenza's second CD 'Voices of Joy', a celebration party was held at 80 Queen Strret, where everyone had a chance to celebrate with champagne and a magnificent cake.

A two day workshop held at Carberry near Edinburgh. This was a chance to work in depth on many pieces, and to work with different tutors. Heather Coates and Joan Busby took sessions on choral technique, Ken Johnston worked with the choir on their newly commissioned piece 'O Columba', and Ben Parry worked through several pieces of Cadenza's repertoire.

A one day workshop held in our usual rehearsal venue of Nicolson Square Church, to give us time to work on the Maxwell Davies commission, and some of our charity concert repertoire. Jenny was joined in the afternoon by James Simpson, which gave us the chance to divide into sections, and also to experience a differnt approach to some of the music. Afterwards the majority of the choir adjourned to Kushi's, just round the corner, for an excellent Indian meal, before going home and falling asleep.....

Neil Whyte, Susan and Joan Forrest sang carols while walkers went round the Meadows on 27th December in aid of 'Make a Wish'. The organisers felt they would be best dressed in Edwardian costumes......Better than being elves or fairies, which seemed to be the alternative.

The Second Sopranos decided they needed a night out to bond as a section. Carol fixed it all up, but it was a secret till we got there - hence the title - Secret Second Sopranos Night Out. We went to Jongleurs, a stand-up comedy club which turns into a disco later on - a steep learning curve for some of us......

Cadenza were proud to participate in the Choral Festival in Coleraine, Northern Ireland, in March 2006. As well as doing lots of singing, spending a whole weekend together was definitely a bonding experience.....
